Agios Antonios Islet Rocks Snorkel (Giali)

36° 39.9′ N · 27° 8.2′ E · approximate

The rocks scattered around the little volcanic islet of Agios Antonios, off Giali's isthmus beach, are the snorkelling spot Sailing Issues suggests for crews anchored in Giali bay.

Practical

Coordinate is approximate: a point in the water just north of the islet, among the rocks charted in OpenStreetMap seamark data (rock nodes around 36.665 N, 27.136 E); the islet's minor light (Ayios Andonios) is on its south side. Swim or dinghy over from the Gyali Bay or Agios Antonios islet anchorages (see separate entries); keep clear of the pumice-loading piers and freighter moorings on the isthmus. The water can be whitened by mineral dust from the quarry (Sailing Issues). There are many awash rocks here, so approach by dinghy slowly and use a dive flag.

Best for

Mask and fins from the Giali anchorage
