Agios Antonios Islet Anchorage (Giali)

36° 40.0′ N · 27° 8.2′ E

The tiny islet of Agios Antonios, topped by a white blocky church and a light, lies off Giali's east end; anchor either side of the shoal that links it to Giali for excellent shelter on sand.

Practical

Giali and Agios Antonios are loosely connected by a shoal; it seems possible to thread around the two or three shallow patches, but treat this 'zigzag passage' as dubious. Anchor on either side of it: excellent protection and good holding in sand (Sailing Issues). The light marks treacherous shoals and rocks awash to the south. The islet's north beach has old tyres and litter, and caiques and Mandraki's 'pirate ship' tie up at its NNE tip. Best snorkelling around Giali is on the rocks near the islet.
