A colourful reef in the 'Three Churches' coves on Ios's south-east coast, with clear water and remains of the old harbour on the seabed: the best snorkelling from a boat on Ios.
Practical
Position approx: the Sailing Issues anchoring mark for the NE corner of the bay (in 4-6 m), used as the swim-off point; the reef lies south of the anchoring area. Sailing Issues calls it 'Great snorkeling and fishing'; Visit Ios notes remains of the old port underwater. Anchor south of the reef or in the northern coves on sand, not on the reef. No services ashore. In strong meltemi move to Manganari.
