Tamelos Lighthouse (Kea)
37° 31.3′ N · 24° 16.6′ E
The light on Cape Tamelos, Kea's southern tip, built in 1893 to light the strait between Kea and Kythnos.
Practical
The 7.5 m tower is the key mark for the Kea-Kythnos crossing. Funnelled meltemi winds and steep seas can build off this cape (see the Kea-Kythnos Channel passage). The position is the OpenSeaMap major light.
