Koundouros Beach (Kea)

37° 34.9′ N · 24° 16.7′ E

The main beach in a string of small sandy coves at Koundouros, with some of the clearest water on Kea and a resort beach bar. Each cove further along is quieter than the last.

Practical

Greeka calls it well organized and one of the island's most popular beaches, with a diving club and watersports. Greektravel says the first beach is packed in summer but each successive cove has fewer people, and that swimming off the rocks by the old settlement is good. Land the dinghy at a quieter cove. Watch the reef about 300 m offshore when moving the tender. Position from OpenStreetMap.
