The anchorage on the north shore of Parikia Bay, under Krios and Martselo beaches, looking back across the water at the town. Sailingissues rates it the place to be in a meltemi or a northerly gale.

Sailingissues: suited to meltemi and northerly storms, and the best option in winds from W through N to NE. mySea logs about 12 m over sand, mud and weed. Medgulets notes that in strong meltemi crews prefer the northern side of Parikia Bay. Beach tavernas and bars line Krios and Martselo beaches.
