Parikia Marina (Paros)

Paros's capital and main ferry port, and the island's charter hub: the yacht quay sits beside the ferry dock, below a harbour windmill and the whitewashed old town. It is the usual place to start or end a Paros charter, with the best provisioning on the island a short walk away.

Visiting yachts mostly go stern-to with their own anchor on the outside of the quay, which takes ferry wash. The inner harbour has laid mooring lines but is mostly filled by charter boats, and berths are reserved for charter fleets at weekends; anchor chains can tangle there (Noonsite, page dated 2022). A 2022 cruiser was told to reserve ahead and was only allowed two mid-week nights because the dock was booked for charter boats. A 2018 report paid EUR 8 a night for a 15 m boat plus water and power; verify locally. Electricity and water are on the quay but can be unreliable; for water, contact the waterman. Diesel comes by mini-tanker (see Parikia Fuel). mySea lists 3.5 m depth, a boat lift, laundry, ice and bottled gas. Approach with care: a reef spans much of the bay entrance, and a south-flowing current of up to 2 knots can run through it (Noonsite); Sailingissues calls the approach 'dangerous and treacherous' with low-lying rocks and currents even in light winds. In calm weather you can lie outside the northern mole. In strong winds, Noonsite advises that anchoring off may be safer than the outer quay.
