Parikia Bay Anchorage (Livadia)

37° 5.5′ N · 25° 9.2′ E

The anchorage off Livadia beach in the north-east corner of Parikia Bay, a short dinghy ride or walk from the old town and the main alternative to the rolly town quay.

Practical

mySea logs about 11 m here over sand, mud and weed. Sailingissues recommends tucking as far east in the bay as possible, which suits NW, N and SSW winds. Noonsite says the bay has many indents, so shelter can usually be found somewhere. Keep clear of the ferry approach to the harbour, and expect wash from ferries and cruise ships. Respect the reef and the current of up to 2 knots at the bay entrance on the way in (Noonsite). Land the dinghy on the beach or at the town quay. Position from the mySea anchorage entry.

Best for

A quieter night than the town quay, within reach of Parikia's shops and tavernas

Season

Apr-Oct; good in N-NW meltemi
