Kastriani Feast (15 August, Kea)

The Dormition of the Virgin on 15 August brings Kea's biggest panigyri to the Kastriani monastery and to Ioulida, with services, a procession and an all-night village festival.
Practical
Expect Korissia and Vourkari to be at their most crowded around 15 August, as it is also the peak Greek holiday week. Arrive early or anchor out. Other Kea feasts: Agios Charalambos at Ioulida on 10 February; Agioi Anargyroi at Vourkari on 1 July; the Transfiguration at Pisses on 6 August; Agios Sozon at Otzias on 7 September; Pentecost at Karthaia. Panigyria are open to all.
