The five swing-circle anchorages the decree sets aside for yachts of 20 m and over around Taha'a. Boats under 20 m may not use them, and big yachts may not use the small-boat ZMRs.

Anchor at the decree point, as close to the centre as possible, with a 48 h maximum. Decree anchor points (WGS84): TH-1-M Mahaea, 90–300 m, 151°26.17'W 16°38.37'S, 400 m swing radius. TH-2-P Patio, 90–300 m, 151°29.7'W 16°34.37'S, 400 m. TH-3-T Tapuamu (lagoon), 20–300 m, 151°33.42'W 16°37.43'S, 400 m (the position shown here; about 35 m on the decree chart). TH-4-P Paipai ('Paipai attente', the waiting area inside Paipai Pass off Pointe Tepari), 90–200 m, 151°32.27'W 16°38.97'S, 300 m. TH-TOAPUHI in Apu Bay, 20–90 m, 151°29.56'W 16°40.37'S, 210 m, marked by buoys. Book overnight stays on escales.gov.pf (40 54 45 78). A crew able to move the vessel must stay aboard at all times. Keep AIS on, and dynamic positioning is banned.
