Tapuamu Quay & Fuel
16° 37.1′ S · 151° 32.7′ W
The small marina and quay in Tapuamu village on the west coast. Yachts come here for fuel by jerry can, a few groceries, and the only official rubbish bins for cruisers on Taha'a.
Practical
Position is the 'Tapuamu Quai' slipway node in OpenStreetMap. The Total station (OSM node next to the quay) is reachable by dinghy: bring your own jerry cans. The brief lists no alongside fuel berth for yachts, so plan larger diesel fills at the Raiatea bases. The station has a small food store and snacks. The rubbish bins on the quay are the only trash disposal for sailors on the island; don't leave rubbish anywhere else. The Mana'o rum tasting room is opposite the quay, and electric bikes are for hire (Enjoy Cycling Tahaa). Anchor in the ZMR de Tapuamu (6 boats, 48 h). OpenStreetMap gives the Total station's hours as Monday to Friday 7am to 12pm and 1:30pm to 5pm (diesel and petrol; cash and cards), and the Enota supermarket's as Monday to Saturday 6am to 12pm and 2pm to 6pm, Sunday 6am to 12pm; verify locally. No public water tap is listed for yachts here: see 'Water & Laundry for Taha'a Crews'.
