Teahuroa Anchorage (Toau)

15° 56.0′ S · 145° 53.6′ W · approximate

An anchorage in front of a wooden house, water cistern and solar street lamp on the motu just south of Otuigi Pass, where boats have been able to take limited water and do laundry.

Practical

Sea-seek lists Teahuroa at 15°56.00'S 145°53.39'W, which marks the house on the rim; this entry is placed about 0.2 nm west of that point, in the lagoon, as an approximate anchoring area. Reach it from Otuigi Pass by heading south inside the lagoon. Water from the cistern in limited quantity and laundry possible (sea-seek, Aug 2024 edition; verify locally and ask the residents first). Fish are abundant. Expect bommies and float your chain.
