Morton Palmer's Farm (Toau)
15° 52.1′ S · 145° 55.7′ W
A one-man oasis on Toau's eastern rim about 3.5 nm north of the south passes, where a fourth-generation Paumotu raises chickens, pigs and bees and grows vegetables.
Practical
Position 15°52.07'S 145°55.69'W (Migration, April 2024). Stop by to see what is for sale: eggs, vegetables, honey, sometimes piglets. Anchoring right off his place is manageable but not easy; alternatively anchor in the 'piscine' to the south and come by dinghy, or walk the outer reef from the piscine. Morton is the son of Robert Palmer of Takaroa. Cash only; no other shops on Toau.
Best for
Fresh eggs and honey on an atoll with no shop
