Magasin Anna (Kauehi)

15° 49.5′ S · 145° 6.6′ W · approximate

One of Tearavero's three or four small general stores, run by Eddie and Matilda (2019). Basics, frozen goods and a little gasoline.

Practical

Location approximate: Jacaranda (April 2019) says to walk from the church along the main street to the right (south when you face the church from the wharf), about 100 m, on the right. The coordinate is an unnamed general store mapped in OpenStreetMap about 140 m south of the church. Confirm on the ground. Limited gasoline can be bought here or at Magasin Yip (2019). Expect island prices and erratic hours: 'open when it is open' (Yolo 2011). Fresh produce is nearly absent apart from potatoes and onions, so ask locals who grow lettuce or watermelons. The oldest store is near the church and pier. Supply ships in 2019: Manavea Nui (the 2019 government sheet spells it Mareva Nui) twice a month on Wednesdays, Stella Mavis and Cobia once a month each. Stocks are best just after a ship. Cash: no ATM is reported on Kauehi, so bring francs (XPF).
