The 2019 government atoll sheet says the health post next to the school was closed because the building was in very poor condition, with normal hours Monday-Friday 7:30-11:30 am, one health auxiliary, tel 40 96 90 27. Check the current status at the mairie. For a doctor, go to Rotoava, Fakarava (about 30 nm), where OpenStreetMap shows a health centre beside the mairie. In an emergency, call on VHF 16. The compendium warns it is 'a long way to a recompression chamber', so dive conservatively.
