Hao Inner-Pass NW-Wind Anchorage
18° 4.7′ S · 141° 1.1′ W
A sand patch a little SW of the pass, inside the lagoon, used as a breezy but protected stop when the wind goes northwest.
Practical
Sugar Shack (June 2020) dropped at 18°04.72S / 141°01.111W in 15 m and found it protected in a NW wind; the anchor came up covered in sand. They checked two other spots nearby and rejected both: 18°04.597S / 141°00.188W was ringed by bommies with no sand, and 18°04.585S / 141°00.771W was a 6-7 m pocket inside reef with too little swinging room.
