South Dock Providenciales (customs)

21° 44.4′ N · 72° 16.8′ W

Provo's industrial cargo port (formerly Gussy Cove), handling most of the country's freight, and the traditional customs and immigration stop for yachts anchored in Sapodilla Bay.

Practical

Border Force lists both South Dock and Sapodilla Bay as Providenciales ports of entry. The office sits inside a working dockyard and is not reachable by dinghy: land at the beach access path, walk up to the main road, turn right and right again; you'll be issued a hard hat and vest (cruiser report 2019). The office did not take credit cards then — bring cash (US$). An alternative is to clear at South Side, South Bank or Blue Haven marinas. Agents: Noonsite lists Al Services (649-941-3267) for pre-arranged clearance. Port draft is only about 11 ft; superyachts too big for the marinas arrange fuel bunkering here via a concierge.
