Mano Juan Village (Isla Saona)
18° 7.7′ N · 68° 44.0′ W · approximate
Saona's only inhabited fishing village, a row of pastel wooden houses on a palm-backed beach on the south coast, and a regular stop for Saona day tours.
Practical
Position approx: village as mapped on OpenStreetMap. Saona has two permanent settlements, Mano Juan and the naval base at Catuano (Wikipedia). Saona is the DR's most important sea-turtle nesting site (GoDominicanRepublic): keep off marked nests and keep lights low at night. The south coast is more exposed than the NW anchorage, so visit by dinghy or tender in settled weather.
