Knife (Klein Bonaire)

12° 10.1′ N · 68° 18.8′ W · approximate

A north-side Klein Bonaire site with a wide, shallow coral plateau that suits beginners and snorkellers, then a drop-off from 10 m to 40 m for everyone else.

Practical

Depth: plateau to about 10 m, drop-off to 40 m (Divers Guide); first reef 3-15 m, second reef 15-40 m (bonaire.com). Current usually light, more in north wind. Most operators tie to the yellow mooring. Popular night dive with operators. Boat dive only. Yachts may not anchor anywhere around Klein Bonaire: go by dinghy from the Kralendijk moorings (about 1 km across the channel) and tie to the yellow STINAPA dive mooring (2-hour limit, max 13 m, by the bow; STINAPA), or join a dive-shop boat. Klein Bonaire has no facilities; boats landing people ashore must use the marked landing zone at No Name Beach (STINAPA, 2018-19). Nature fee and SCTLD rules apply (STINAPA). Trade-wind chop in the channel and north swells can make the dinghy ride wet; north-side sites are cancelled in strong NE wind (bonaire.com). Coordinate approx: no reliable published point found (bonaire.com's map pin lands on Bonaire's south coast); derived from Divers Guide spacing - 0.07 km from Leonora's Reef, 0.23 km from Ebo's Special, 0.32 km from Sampler, 0.86 km from No Name Beach - and set about 100 m off the OSM north shoreline.
