Hole in the Wall (Roatán dive)

16° 18.8′ N · 86° 35.5′ W

One of Roatán's most talked-about dives: a crack in the wall drops divers through to 100-130 ft above an abyss, with 'Swiss cheese' caverns and swim-throughs around the sand slope.

Practical

Coordinate from PADI's site page (Wikivoyage lists 16.3138, -86.59178). Not to be confused with the Hole in the Wall restaurant in Jonesville. PADI describes the chute to 100-130 ft and recommends advanced, cavern and buoyancy training; beginners can stay on the sand slope and shallows. Off West End inside the Marine Park — go with a dive shop; watch depth and gas closely in the chute.
