Half Moon Bay & West End Snorkel (Roatán)
16° 18.3′ N · 86° 35.6′ W
West End's sheltered crescent of sand, with the fringing reef close enough to snorkel from the beach — turtles, eagle rays and healthy coral a few fin kicks out, and the village's bars and dive shops behind you.
Practical
Coordinate is Half Moon Bay beach (Playa Bahía Media Luna) from OpenStreetMap. Inside the marine park: no touching or taking anything. Swim within marked areas — dive and water-taxi traffic is constant. Land the dinghy at a dive-shop dock (some offer cruiser dinghy docks; older notes credit Sueño del Mar) and lock it. Best in calm easterlies; murky and rough in northers.
Best for
Easy reef snorkelling straight from the beach
