Rum Cay offshore fishing (South East Point)
23° 38.7′ N · 74° 47.1′ W · approximate
Deep water close to Rum Cay's southeast end draws blue marlin, tuna and wahoo; the marina site calls South East Point red hot for blue marlin in June, July and August.
Practical
From the Sumner Point Marina site. A Bahamas fishing permit is required for foreign vessels (see the area file); catch limits and bag rules apply, and there is no fishing inside Conception Island National Park. Point placed in deep water off the southeast reefs (approx); give the reefs and awash rocks off the east end a wide berth.
