Dive· Rum Cay· Bahamas — Eleuthera, Andros & the Out Islands
Grand Canyon (Rum Cay)
23° 39.0′ N · 74° 49.0′ W · approximate
Rum Cay's signature dive: a coral wall rising from 60 ft of sand almost to the surface, cut by canyons and tunnels and topped with mushroom-shaped coral heads with deep overhangs.
Practical
Sail Abacos: wall from 60 ft to within feet of the surface, tunnels navigable with natural light, mooring on site, reached by boat from Sumner Point Marina. Position from the Sail Abacos listing (rounded; checked to be in water, near the island's southeast reefs); find the mooring with local help. Shallow top makes it snorkel-able in calm conditions.
Best for
Divers and strong snorkellers on a calm day
