Port Nelson government dock
23° 38.7′ N · 74° 50.2′ W
The public dock where the mail boat calls; what remains after Hurricane Joaquin (2015) damaged it heavily.
Practical
Noonsite (2017): the government dock suffered extensive damage during Hurricane Joaquin and little remains. Cruising World (2023) still describes a government dock with a welcome sign and mail-boat service about three times a month. Do not plan to come alongside with a yacht; use it, if at all, for the dinghy and keep clear of the mail boat. Position from the OSM-mapped dock.
Best for
Dinghy access to the village and mail-boat days
