Royal Island cross-island walk
25° 31.1′ N · 76° 50.7′ W · approximate
An informal walk of about 2 km from the harbour pier past the estate ruins and the old golf-course clearing to an abandoned harbour on the far side, where local fishermen cast from small boats.
Practical
Coordinate approx: same start as the estate ruins entry (the harbour pier area); the track is not mapped. A 2025 Life is Grand log walked about 2 km in total, crossing to an abandoned harbour whose shore was littered with sea grass and plastic (not a swimming beach) and passing orange trees and a large termite nest. Royal Island is private and was listed for sale in 2024 (403 acres, Caribbean Journal), so access can change; ask the caretakers. Wear shoes and carry water; there are no facilities.
