Egg Island Anchorage

25° 29.7′ N · 76° 53.2′ W

A pretty, secluded roadstead off the small west-side beach of Egg Island at the NW corner of the Eleuthera bank, with sunsets over the Northeast Providence Channel and an easy exit for Abaco or the Berry Islands without the Devil's Backbone.

Practical

7-12 ft, good holding in sand; avoid grass. Protection only from E-SE; open to everything else and a swell runs in over 15 kn from any direction (bumpy in NE, 2024 review). Lots of room — a 2024 reviewer counted 16-22 boats some evenings. Sandbar with rope swings and several small beaches. Spanish Wells is 7-8 nm east.
