Hogsty Reef Lagoon Anchorage
21° 41.2′ N · 73° 49.2′ W · approximate
Anchoring inside the atoll itself, on the big sand field toward the head of the lagoon near the Liberty-ship wreck, for the full lagoon experience in calm conditions.
Practical
Wikipedia: the lagoon is mostly 20-30 ft with scattered coral heads, with a large sand area of about 10 ft at its head; good light is essential. Explorer and other charts reported accurate inside; despite charts, little of the reef actually dries. Sharks are common - be careful when swimming and especially when spearing.
