Greenwood Beach
24° 11.4′ N · 75° 18.8′ W · approximate
A long pink-tinged Atlantic beach on Cat Island's south-east shore near Port Howe, part of the island's celebrated pink-sand coast and home to the small Greenwood Beach Resort.
Practical
Coordinate is taken from the Google Maps link on the Greenwood Beach Resort website (approx). The Bahamas tourism board describes a rose-coloured beach near Port Howe and an eight-mile pink-sand beach. It is on the windward Atlantic side, so reach it by car from New Bight, Old Bight or Hawk's Nest, not by boat. The resort serves breakfast, lunch and dinner at a beachfront restaurant (WhatsApp +1 242 808 1846). Surf and currents can be strong on this coast. The resort's PADI dive centre is listed separately (Cat Island Dive Centre).
