Dumfries Anchorage

24° 35.7′ N · 75° 39.1′ W

A quiet, seldom-used anchorage off the old settlement of Dumfries between Arthur's Town and Bennett's Harbour, and the jumping-off point for the Great Crown Cave hike.

Practical

Approach from deep water to the west; a few coral heads closer to the beach are easy to see in good light. Good depth for anchoring. Southerly wind brings fetch and roll. G and S General Store sold hardware, some food and ice cream (older listing; verify locally). Good BaTelCo signal, no open WiFi.

Best for

Getting away from it all, with the cave hike, in settled east winds

Season

Settled E; rolly with any S component
