Hike· Great Harbour Cay· Bahamas — North
Sugar Beach Caves (Great Harbour Cay)
25° 47.4′ N · 77° 51.6′ W · approximate
Limestone caves beside secluded Sugar Beach at the north end of Great Harbour Cay, explorable when the tide is right and often ranked among the prettiest beaches in the Bahamas.
Practical
Position approximate (to within about a mile): the island site places the caves at the northern end of the island, next to Sugar Beach; no surveyed position was found. The usual approach is by bike, cart or car from the marina (the marina rents carts and cars; the old marina listing suggests a bike ride). Time the visit for lower water: the caves open to the sea. Good shelling.
Best for
A bike ride to caves and a secluded beach
