Bullocks Harbour Settlement
25° 45.4′ N · 77° 52.6′ W · approximate
The only real village in the Berry Islands, settled in 1836 by freed slaves and once home to a sponge fleet: a few streets of grocery stores, bars and churches strung along the harbour behind Cistern Cay.
Practical
Position approximate: placed ashore just north of the ActiveCaptain 'Government Docks' anchorage, which lies off the settlement. Most of the Berry Islands' roughly 1,000 residents (2022 census) live here. Dinghy to the government dock at high tide; ActiveCaptain warns of broken glass if you must wade. Stores include A&L Grocery and White Water Grocery (ActiveCaptain listing, 2018), Pinders Liquor (also sells BTC and Aliv SIM cards), and Anthony's Hardware. No bank or ATM. Restaurants listed by the island site include White Water Bar & Restaurant, Coolie Mae's Sunset by the Sea and Hammerhead's on the causeway.
