Snake Cay South Anchorage
26° 26.9′ N · 77° 2.8′ W
A sand-patch anchorage at the south end of Snake Cay, protected from west through north, with spotted eagle rays in the inlet and the East Abaco Creeks to explore by dinghy.
Practical
ActiveCaptain (December 2023): good holding in sandy patches; protection W to N. A waste dump on shore nearby burns trash - if the wind sets toward you, you will smell it. See Snake Cay Creek Dinghy Trail for the creek. ActiveCaptain and press reports predate or postdate Hurricane Dorian (Category 5, Sept 1, 2019) as dated; re-check businesses locally.
Best for
Westerly-to-northerly shelter on the Great Abaco shore
