Tilloo Bank

26° 26.2′ N · 76° 59.6′ W · approximate

A broad, roughly 3-ft-deep sand and grass bank off the south end of Tilloo Cay - a gin-clear natural swimming pool full of rays, starfish, conch and sea biscuits, and the shoal every boat routes around between Hope Town and the Pelican Cays.

Practical

Coordinate is approximate: placed about 0.45 nm SSW of the ActiveCaptain 'Outside Tilloo Pond' anchorage, which is described as lying 'just north of the Tilloo Bank'; read the bank's true edges off your chart (Explorer / Dodge) before transiting. About 3 ft at low tide. At and after low tide there is a significant northgoing current - dinghy to the south edge and drift-snorkel back. Keelboats follow the charted route west of the bank toward Tavern Cay and Pelican Harbour.
