Alder Cay Anchorage

25° 32.1′ N · 77° 43.0′ W

Anchorage off private Alder Cay, a palm-lined islet with a single house and white beaches; Frozen Cay overlaps it to the north to form a small harbour for shoal-draft boats, with sunsets over the water.

Practical

ActiveCaptain position. Alder and Frozen Cays are wholly private: admire from the water. A March 2023 boat anchored in 9 ft, hard sand, about 200 yards off the footbridge; it came down the inside route from the north at high tide (4.5 ft draft, saw 7.5 ft). Snug up to the beach to get out of the swell. Noforeignland users report 2-3 m sand and a lagoon. Alder/Bond cut to the south can be dangerous in strong easterlies.
