Warderick Wells Cut

24° 24.0′ N · 76° 37.5′ W · approximate

Described by cruising guides as one of the best cuts in the Bahamas - wide, deep and straight, with none of the dog-legs and coral heads that make the other Exuma cuts a nail-biter. Your bolt-hole to Exuma Sound from the north mooring field.

Practical

Wide, deep and straight, but still a tidal cut: transit near slack and avoid an ebb running against a strong easterly, which will rage the entrance. Good light helps but the deep, straight channel is far more forgiving than Conch Cut or Dotham. Handy for a fast run down the Sound to Staniel Cay or out to the fishing grounds - remember fishing is banned inside park waters.
