Austin Smith Wreck
24° 43.2′ N · 76° 48.0′ W · approximate
A 90-ft Bahamian Defence Force cutter sitting upright in 60 ft of sand off the Highbourne area, intact enough to swim the deck and wheelhouse. Barracuda hang over the superstructure, reef sharks pass through, and visibility is routinely 100 ft.
Practical
60 ft to the sand - an advanced-open-water-friendly wreck, but there's current and no permanent mooring, so a live boat is standard. Visibility 100 ft year-round. No penetration without training. This site is north of the park boundary; if you dive inside the park, the $14/person park dive fee applies. Best arranged through a Nassau or Highbourne operator - there is no dive shop in the northern Exumas.
