Veronica L Wreck (off St George's)

12° 2.8′ N · 61° 46.4′ W

The Veronica L is a small 100–120 ft freighter that sank in the early 1980s and was lifted and re-sunk upright in 2006 to clear the way for the cruise-ship terminal. At 15 m she is Grenada's easiest wreck and a favourite night dive, crusted in orange cup corals and sponges.

Practical

Position is the WikiBubbles dive-directory mark, outside St George's harbour and north of Grand Anse; operators use their own marks. Depth 20–50 ft (6–15 m) per Eco Dive; WikiBubbles averages 15 m. Easy, all levels (Eco Dive, Bradt). Look for seahorses, frogfish, morays, squirrelfish and trumpetfish; at night brotulas, shrimp and crabs (Bradt). Eco Dive often finishes the dive on the shallow section of Northern Exposure Reef. Do not anchor here: it sits in the busy harbour approach and the Grand Anse Marine Protected Area bans anchoring south of 12°02.05'N.
