Tobago Cays Moorings (Baradal and Horseshoe Reef)

12° 37.9′ N · 61° 21.4′ W · approximate

The park's mooring field in the open lagoon around Baradal's turtle-watching area, with nothing but Horseshoe Reef between you and Africa - the signature Tobago Cays overnight.

Practical

Coordinate is derived: water just south-west of Baradal near the turtle area (OpenStreetMap); moorings are scattered around the turtle zone. About 30 moorings were laid to keep anchors off the reef and turtle grass. Fee EC$60 per 24 hours (TCMP fees effective Jan 1, 2023; confirmed by Doyle 2025) plus EC$15 per person entrance (2023; verify locally); pay uniformed TCMP rangers who come by daily, or online at tobagocays.org (credit card). Moorings are not compulsory and have been poorly maintained at times - check yours. The Baradal area is the most frequented and chop builds in strong NE trades; the Petit Rameau side is calmer. No garbage facilities: take everything away. Speed limit 5 knots in the park; jet skis, fishing and dinghy anchoring are not allowed.
