Petit Bateau and Petit Rameau Trails

12° 38.0′ N · 61° 21.6′ W

Short hiking trails over the cays' scrubby ridges give panoramic views across Horseshoe Reef and the Grenadines, with iguanas and birds along the way.

Practical

Position is Petit Bateau as mapped in OpenStreetMap. Land the dinghy on the beach (no dinghy anchoring). Paths are rough; wear shoes. Highly poisonous manchineel trees grow as low shrubs on Petit Rameau, Baradal and Jamesby - do not touch them or shelter under them in rain, and never eat the small green 'apples'. Stay off vegetation; it stabilises the beaches. Late afternoon light is best for photos.
