Petit Bateau Beach BBQ

12° 38.1′ N · 61° 21.7′ W

Lobster and fish barbecues on the beach at Petit Bateau, cooked over coals by local vendors as the sun drops over Mayreau.

Practical

Position is the beach barbecue spot mapped in OpenStreetMap. Snorkeling Report names Alphonso's Lobster BBQ and Romeo's Beach BBQ on Petit Bateau; Doyle (2025) confirms the beach BBQs are operating again after Hurricane Beryl. Book through a boat vendor during the day and agree the price up front; cruisers paid EC$70 to EC$120 per person in 2018-19 (verify locally). Drinks on the beach are expensive, so bring your own if allowed. If you run your own BBQ ashore, take all charcoal and debris away; the park also charges a barbecue permit (EC$25 for 1-10 people, 2023 schedule).
