Hog Island Reef Snorkel
11° 59.9′ N · 61° 44.5′ W · approximate
The reefs fringing Hog Island are the easiest snorkelling on the south coast: jump in from the dinghy off Roger's Barefoot Beach Bar or along the island's west and south shores.
Practical
Position is approximate, just off Hog Island's west-shore beach (Wikipedia/GeoHack island coordinate 12.0000, -61.7380), in the water. Noonsite (February 2025): 'numerous good snorkelling areas on the reefs in this area'. Enter through the Mount Hartman buoyed channel. The water quality in the Woburn and Clarkes Court bays can be poor after rain (melonthego, 2019), so pick days after a dry spell. Watch for dinghy traffic between the anchorage and the bar.
Best for
Easy dinghy-access snorkel
