Hog Island Anchorage

12° 0.1′ N · 61° 44.5′ W

Hog Island Anchorage is a reef-sheltered pool between Hog Island and the mainland. It is the classic Grenada cruiser anchorage: flat water, mangroves, reefs to snorkel and Roger's Barefoot Beach Bar on the sand, with a Sunday barbecue that draws the whole south coast.

Practical

Position is Noonsite's anchorage position, 12°00.1'N 61°44.5'W, just east of Mount Hartman Bay and north-west of Hog Island. Enter through the Mount Hartman buoyed channel and bear right before the green/red buoy (Noonsite). Many private moorings crowd the space, so find a gap to anchor. Depth and bottom details were not verified; check with the lead line. Water barges have delivered here (a 2015 report: Monday, Wednesday and Friday). It is a short dinghy ride to Mount Hartman, Clarkes Court Bay and the Woburn dock for buses to town. Security: CSSN logged a SUP stolen from an anchored yacht in July 2026, vandalism in February 2025, and in October 2025 a knife-point robbery of a woman walking alone on the path from Hog Island to the Clarkes Court boatyard at 5:30 pm. Walk in company and lift and lock the dinghy at night.
