Hog Island Beach and Reef
12° 0.0′ N · 61° 44.3′ W
Hog Island is an uninhabited 85-acre island linked to the mainland by a bridge. Its west-shore beach and the shallow reefs close to shore make easy snorkelling straight from the dinghy.
Practical
Position is the Wikipedia/GeoHack island coordinate. The bridge was built in 2007–2009 and the island can be reached by water taxi, on foot or by bike (Wikipedia). The island is privately farmed and was cleared in 2007 for a resort that was later stalled, in critically endangered Grenada Dove habitat, so stay on the paths. Noonsite notes numerous good snorkelling areas on the surrounding reefs. A nature walk near Hog Island features in Boat International's 2026 itinerary.
