Grenville Port (clearance out and Luffing Channel)

12° 7.0′ N · 61° 37.0′ W · approximate

Grenville, the 'Rainbow City' and Grenada's east-coast port, sits behind a reef reached through the buoyed Luffing Channel. It is listed as a place to clear out and has a lively Saturday market.

Practical

Position is Noonsite's whole-minute Grenville Bay position, 12°07'N 61°37'W, which plots in the bay roughly 750 m off the town waterfront; it marks the harbour, not the customs office (approx). The GTA lists the Grenville sea port as a place where departing vessels can clear out. Noonsite (2024–25) says yachts can clear in and out here, but the port was out of operation for maintenance, so confirm before relying on it. Pilotage: see the Luffing Channel passage (about 10 ft at high tide, 12 ft inside; arrive by 2 pm with the sun behind you). The town has all essential amenities, a fish market, and a weekend market by the cargo pier. Saturday is the traditional market day (Wikipedia).
