Bat Cave Dive (Byahaut)
13° 11.2′ N · 61° 16.2′ W · approximate
A shallow passage leads into a sea cave in the cliff where bats roost overhead and copper sweepers swirl. You exit through a deep, narrow fissure onto the reef, with black coral at about 100 ft outside.
Practical
Coordinate is derived (approx): the Wikidata point for the Byahaut Bat Cave (13.18639 N, 61.26306 W) falls about 600 m inland, so it was moved to the water off the cliffs at Byahaut using the OpenStreetMap coastline; ask the dive shop for the exact entry. Dive St Vincent describes a shallow rocky passage through the reef into a cave inside the cliff, with bats roosting and copper sweepers, exiting through a narrow, deep fissure onto a reef that drops quickly to black coral stands at about 100 ft. SVG Tourism says it is one of St Vincent's more challenging sites and should only be attempted under the supervision of a local dive professional; do not snorkel into the cave. Book through a St Vincent dive shop such as Dive St Vincent (784 457 4714, VHF 16/68).
