RMS Rhone Marine Park Day Moorings (Lee Bay)
18° 22.3′ N · 64° 32.1′ W · approximate
The National Parks Trust day-use mooring field off Salt Island's southwest corner, the only way to visit the Rhone from your own boat.
Practical
Approximate position: placed in the bay just north of Black Rock Point and the wreck, from the OpenStreetMap coastline; verify the ball positions on arrival. Yacht Warriors (2024): Lee Bay is a day-use-only mooring field for the Rhone. NPT rules: anchoring and fishing strictly prohibited in the Marine Park; moorings are first come first served, 90-minute limit, day use only (no overnight); orange = non-diving, white = diving only, yellow = commercial, blue = dinghy; vessels 55 to 80 ft use the large yellow balls only; a Marine Conservation Permit is required. Moorings sit close together (expect tight swinging room) and the site can be rolly with surge and current; dinghy over to the stern if you are snorkelling. For the night, move to Salt Island's north side, Cooper Island or Peter Island.
