Blonde Rock
18° 22.2′ N · 64° 33.2′ W · approximate
A submerged pinnacle between Dead Chest and Salt Island, an underwater amphitheatre with ledges, overhangs and swim-throughs where turtles, sharks and rays pass.
Practical
Approximate position computed from Coast Pilot 5: 'Blonde Rock, covered 1 1/2 fathoms, is about 0.6 mile east-northeast of Dead Chest' (bearing measured from the islet's Wikipedia position). Only about 9 ft of water over the top: a hazard in Salt Island Passage (see that passage). Dive depth 20 to 60 ft (Blue Water Divers); advanced site (Sail Caribbean Divers), weather permitting. Within the Rhone Marine Park: moorings only, no anchoring or fishing.
