Maho Bay Sea Turtles
18° 21.5′ N · 64° 44.8′ W · approximate
Green sea turtles feed on Maho's seagrass beds in a few feet of water, often surfacing right beside snorkelers.
Practical
Position approximate: the eastern (right-hand, looking out) side of Maho Bay where the island guide says turtles mostly feed; checked to be in the water. NPS: turtles are most visible early morning or late afternoon; coral and fish are better toward the point between Maho and Cinnamon; octopus sometimes in crevices. Do not touch, chase or feed turtles, and do not stand on or damage seagrass. Watch for long-spined urchins on the east-side rocks.
