Cinnamon Bay Boat Exclusion Area & Dinghy Rules

18° 21.3′ N · 64° 45.5′ W · approximate

The boating rules at Cinnamon Bay, the long campground beach: a swim area closed to boats, a dinghy tether at Little Cinnamon, and no overnight park mooring field.

Practical

Position approximate: off Cinnamon Bay beach (from the Wikipedia point for Cinnamon Bay). Cinnamon Bay has no NPS pay station (none listed by the island guide) and no big-boat moorings in the Compendium list, so for overnight use Maho or Francis next door. Boats are prohibited in the buoyed swim area; vessels under 26 ft LOA may use a red-and-green-marked beach channel where one is provided and must stay in it (NPS marine page; Compendium). The green dinghy tether at Little Cinnamon beach is for vessels 16 ft LOA or less. Anchoring is prohibited in beach channels and park-wide for boats 60 ft and under except at designated anchorages. The campground store, Rain Tree Cafe and rentals are ashore. Strong current can run around the point.
