Isleta Marina Anchorage
18° 20.2′ N · 65° 37.3′ W · approximate
The anchorage just south of Isleta Marina inside Bahía de Fajardo, the traditional place for cruisers to wait out weather, provision in Fajardo and clear customs.
Practical
Position is approximate: south of the islet, using OpenStreetMap's outline; reefs surround the islet up to 0.5 mile, so check the chart and approach in good light. Coast Pilot 5: small vessels anchor inside the bay on either side of the entrance channel, and small vessels can anchor south of Isleta Marina as a hurricane anchorage; inside the bay depths range from 3 to 24 ft. Tidal currents in the channel are weak on the flood (0.3 knot south-southeast) and up to 1.1 knots on the ebb (north-northwest). Noonsite (2016): a nice anchorage, dinghy tie-up and ferry to Fajardo from the marina for a fee, marina Wi-Fi reachable from the anchorage. The customs pier at Playa de Fajardo is across the bay.
Best for
Anchoring near Fajardo's shops and CBP office
Season
